The Blue Water Area Child Advocacy Center
The St. Clair County Child Abuse/Neglect Council has moved into our new home at 1107 Miltary St. in downtown Port Huron. We have begun interviewing in our new state of the art facility. Our partnership with the community has contributed to our now realized dream.
The primary goal of all Child Advocacy Centers is to ensure that children are not further victimized by intervention systems designed to protect them. Such a center fully comliments our belief that --- "It shouldn't hurt to be a child".
The Children's Advocacy Center model is a child - focused, facility- based program in which representatives from many disciplines- law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medical and victim advocacy - work together, conducting joint forensic interviews and making team decisions about the investigation, treatment, management and prosecution of child abuse cases.
