A teaching process designed to inform, empower, and educate middle school students about personal body safety and the law.

Just the Facts is a live play directed at Middle School Students about personal body safety and the law. Middle School educators have long acknowledged the need to inform adolescents about such important issues as sexual assault, sexual harassment, confusing touch, and internet safety.

Just the Facts is part of a teaching process in the school (or other) setting which addresses these sensitive issues. The goal is to empower students and help PREVENT physical and emotional injury before it ever begins.

Just the Facts is a live play designed to help young people deal with the unpleasant realities behind several sensitive social issues. Through it, adolescents learn...

  • PREVENTION skills and strategies designed to prevent dating violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, confusing touch and internet safety.
  • Factual information presented by experts designed to educate kids about the law and personal body safety.
  • Application of educational information to everyday situations.
  • There are people and programs that can help.

Just the Facts is a live play consisting of four (4) scenarios performed by professional actors in the school setting. The live (and lively) play, in addition to its obvious entertainment value, clearly educates and empowers. It addresses the socially relevant topics of sexual assault, sexual harassment, confusing touch and internet safety while skillfully presenting PREVENTION strategies. Parents, school staff and others are urged to continue PREVENTION discussion in the home/classroom with their students.

Just the Facts is sponsored and coordinated solely by the St. Clair County Child Abuse/Neglect Council with the financial support of generous community service groups and numerous fund-raising efforts on the part of council members and friends. Just the Facts was conceptualized and developed by the St. Clair County Child Abuse/Neglect Council with grants from Michigan Department of Community Health, Gannett Foundation and Port Huron Town Hall and is produced by Theatre Arts Productions. The Mission of the St. Clair County Child Abuse/Neglect Council is the PREVENTION of child abuse in St. Clair County. The Council thanks all who support its belief that "It Shouldn't Hurt to be a Child". If you or your civic group would like to contribute to the PREVENTION of child abuse, direct inquiries to:
